How does a waterfall hike sound to you? How about a hike to a double waterfall? Now, that sounds even better! Bish Bash Falls is a breathtaking waterfall with a double cascade located in the Taconic Mountains of Berkshire County. It’s found close to the border that Massachusetts shares with New York.
Bish Bash Falls is located within Bish Bash Falls State Park in the Taconic Mountains along the Massachusetts-New York state border. It is the highest waterfall in the state of Massachusetts and quite a sight to behold.

To get there involves a 2.1-mile hike along the Bish Bash Falls Trail. This out-and-back trail is a popular one given the gorgeous falls and it’s rated as moderate.

You’ll experience a 521-foot overall elevation gain on this trek, although part of the trail is relatively flat along a creek.

Fed by a spring in the Massachusetts’ town of Mount Washington, the waterfall eventually cascades as twin falls into a pool below.

The double waterfall has a height of 80 feet, making it the tallest in Massachusetts.

While the pool below the falls looks tempting, it is forbidden to swim here. The pool is shallow and rocks can be extremely slippery which makes for dangerous conditions, so please exercise extreme caution.
