No summer is complete without a float trip down the beautiful Illinois River in northeastern Oklahoma. They offer six and 12-mile float trips or you can book a longer float trip if you make arrangements before.

12-miles is the longest float trip we could find, which makes it the longest in the state. The Illinois River is a Class II river so it’s pretty calm in most places.

After checking in at the resort they will load up the rafts and kayaks and bus you to the drop-off spot. Shuttle buses run every 15 minutes, so it’s very quick service.

Rentals include 17-ft canoes or kayaks, or you can float in one of the resort’s six-person whitewater rafts.

The leisure trip (6-miles long) takes about 2-3 hours and the adventure trip (12-miles long) takes about 4-6 hours on average to complete.
