Iowa has some of the most spectacular sunflower fields in the Midwest – every year the state’s fields explode with color, offering a stunning Hawkeye State photo op that’s hard to beat. Get your camera ready: here’s a tour of five sunflower fields you can visit on a single road trip.
This tour will take about nine hours to complete and cover more than 500 miles. It’s a bit of a journey, but you won’t find a more spectacular excuse for an Iowa road trip.

Pheasant Run Farm / Facebook The Sunflower Experience at Pheasant Run Farm is the first stop on this tour - you’ll find the field at the junction of Hwy 30 & 131 at the Belle Plaine exit. The friendly flower farm is perfect for families with young kids and you get to leave with a sunflower!
