The Fourth of July is a great time of celebration in Northeast Ohio. Entire counties are decorated in red, white, and blue, and the festivities are plentiful. Parades kick off the celebrations, but everyone is undeniably gearing up for the epic firework displays that grace our area. Last year, we took a look at our favorite firework displays, and in 2015 we spread the word on the top 20 fireworks shows in Ohio. As we draw closer and closer to Independence Day, you might be wondering, “Where can I find firework displays near me?” Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of five explosive shows that you simply must see, and below that you will find shows throughout Cuyahoga and its surrounding counties.   1. Salute to America, Blossom Music Center, 1145 West Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls

The Cleveland Orchestra/Facebook From July 1 through 4, you have the opportunity to experience a show that will blow you away. Tickets range from $15 and up, which includes a patriotic show full of Sousa marches and other all-American favorites performed by the Blossom Festival Band. The fireworks display after the performance will move you as it paints the lovely landscape in patriotic hues.

  1. Independence Day at Progressive Field, 2401 Ontario Street, Cleveland

This year, the Indians take on the Padres on Independence Day, and the first 15,000 fans will take home a Francisco Lindor bobblehead. Is there truly a more American way to celebrate the holiday?

If you’ve never been to Hudson, now is a great time to check this charming town out! You’ll adore this antique tight-knit community, and you will be enamored with the festivities at Barlow Farm Park. Swing by for a spectacular show sponsored by the Hudson Community Foundation.

Cuyahoga County:

  • Middleburg Heights Summer in the City, June 24. Summer in the City Fest is located on Smith Road between West 130th and Pearl Road, and the firework show is set to begin at 10 p.m. Stop by Southland Shopping Center for views that’ll blow you away!
  • Mayfield Heights Community Unity Days, June 24. Fireworks begin at dusk at City Park, located at 1533 Chelmsford Road, but swing by a bit early to enjoy the festivities.
  • Mayfield Village Fourth of July Celebration, July 1. Fireworks will be sent up from Parkview Soccer Fields at dusk. Admission is free for village residents. Park at or near Parkview Pool, 425 North Commons Boulevard, and catch a ride with Lolly the Trolly toward the festivities.
  • Brecksville Home Days, July 1 and 2. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. both days, so swing by Downtown Brecksville, near the intersection of Route 82 and Brecksville Road, to enjoy fireworks with a charming small town celebration.
  • Warrensville Heights Independence Day Weekend, July 2. Fireworks begin at dusk at Warrensville Heights High School Stadium, located at 4270 Northfield Road. Bags are not permitted at this event.
  • North Olmsted 2017 Boom, July 2. Fireworks begin at dusk at Great Northern Mall, 4954 Great Northern Boulevard, but the festivities begin at 7 p.m. Bring a nonperishable food item for the Food Pantry!
  • Independence Fourth of July, July 3. Enjoy games and food and beverage booths at Elmwood Park, 6363 Selig Drive, and stay for fireworks at dusk.
  • Bratenahl Fourth of July Celebration, July 3. Swing by Village Park, 411 Bratenahl Road, to enjoy entertainment and concessions, followed by fireworks at dusk.
  • Westlake Fourth of July Celebration, July 4. Swing by Clague Park, located at the northeast corner of Clague Road and Hilliard Boulevard, for festivities beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding at dusk with a grand firework display.
  • Solon Fourth of July Fireworks, July 4. Fireworks begin at dusk at Solon Community Park, 6679 SOM Center Road.
  • Lakewood Fourth of July Celebration, July 4. Celebrate with an extravagant celebration at Lakewood Park, 14532 Lake Avenue, featuring plenty of games and entertainment. Fireworks are set to begin at approximately 9:45 p.m.
  • Strongsville July Fourth Fireworks, July 4. Stop by the Foltz Athletic Fields, located in Foltz Park, for fireworks beginning at 10 p.m.

Geauga County:

  • Bainbridge Township Independence Day & Bicentennial Celebration, July 2.This event begins at 6 p.m. and is complete with face painters, balloon sculpting, music, and more. Fireworks begin at dusk.
  • Chardon Fireworks, July 2. Kick off Independence Day right by checking out this lovely firework display at Chardon High School, 151 Chardon Avenue. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
  • Thompson Independence Eve Explosion, July 3. You have to check out the gigantic firework show at Thompson Raceway Park, 8233 Sidley Road. The celebration begins at 11 a.m., and the firework show begins at dusk.

Lorain County:

  • Columbia Station Homecoming, June 24. Games, animals, and food fill this festival with celebration. The crown gem of the event begins at 10 p.m., when the fireworks show begins at Columbia Township Park, 25540 Royalton Road.
  • Lorain Firework Display, July 1. Black River Landing, 421 Black River Lane, will set the scene for this epic firework show beginning at 10 p.m.
  • Avon Lakes Fourth of July Fireworks, July 2. Weiss Fields, 33401 Webber Road, will host Says She at 7 p.m., Anne E. DeChant at 8:30 p.m., and then a spectacular firework display immediately after.
  • Elyria’s Lorain County Speedway Fireworks, July 2. Celebrate this holiday at one of the coolest racetracks around! Fore $12, adults can enjoy a day of fun at Lorain County Speedway, 9100 Leavitt Road, complete with fireworks at dusk. Children get in free!
  • North Ridgeville Star Spangled Celebration, July 3. South Central Park, 7565 Avon Belden Road, will be filled with bounce houses, games, and more to kick off Independence Day. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
  • Wellington Fireworks at the Fairgrounds, July 3. The Lorain County Fairgrounds, 23000 Farigrounds Road, is the perfect setting to kick back and enjoy an old fashioned Independence Day Celebration! Fireworks begin at dusk.

Medina County:

  • Brunswick’s St. Ambrose Summer Festival, June 25. This cozy fair at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Road, concludes with an epic fireworks show around 9:30 p.m.
  • Medina Fourth of July Fireworks, July 3. Stop by Medina High School, 777 East Union Street, at dusk.

Summit County:

  • Green’s FreedomFest, June 24. Swing by Boettler Park, 5300 Massillon Road, with a school supply to donate to Green Good Neighbors. The event kicks off at noon, but the unbelievable firework display begins at 10:15 p.m.
  • New Franklin’s Portage Lakes Fireworks, July 1. Take part in the largest privately funded firework experience in the region! Check out Portage Lakes State Park, 5031 Manchester Road, and be ready to be knocked off your feet at dusk.
