Is ice cream ever a bad idea? We sure don’t think so! This cool concoction really is delicious any time of year, but it especially hits the spot in the warmer months. There’s just something so classic Americana about enjoying an ice cream cone on a hot day! And there’s a tiny ice cream shop in Ledgewood, New Jersey, that is an absolute must visit. Cliff’s Homemade Ice Cream is arguably the best ice cream shop in New Jersey, and today we’re waxing poetic about this sweet little shop!
Cliff’s Homemade Ice Cream has been a Ledgewood staple since 1975. It was started by a local school teacher (Cliff Freund) who had little more than a sweet dream and solid recipe.
Yelp/Chris C.
Open year-round, Cliff’s can get pretty crowded – especially on really nice, warm days! After you’ve been served up your sweet treat, we recommend enjoying it in the picnic-style seating area out back. It’s a total experience!
Yelp/Sandra L.
Their homemade ice cream is available in over 70 flavors (11 soft serve and 60+ hard hand-dipped)! Are you a chocolate fan? They’ve got classic chocolate, chocolate cupcake, grandma’s chocolate cake, and more.
Yelp/Katie S.
You’ll also find unique flavors like Holy Cannoli, Graham Central Station and… Smurf (it’s blue but tastes like vanilla and is dotted with chocolate and marshmallows). You will want to come and try them all!
Yelp/Rich R.
Even though Cliff’s Homemade Ice Cream has ‘fancy’ flavors, they do right by the basics; their vanilla and strawberry flavors have won national contests, in fact! They’ve also been featured on the Food Network and were chosen as #1 in New Jersey by USA Today. Impressive, right?
Yelp/Beth M.
Cliff’s also offers catering (ice cream sundae party, anyone?) and custom cakes. This place really is a total New Jersey gem!
Yelp/Amanda G.
Cliff’s Homemade Ice Cream really is the best ice cream shop in New Jersey! You’ll find this superlative ice cream shop at 1475 US-46, Ledgewood, NJ, 07852.
