Although one could easily worship outside in the breathtaking nature of Hawaii, a more traditional setting can be pleasant too. Thankfully, Hawaii has many chapels that are not only rich in history but are made up of beautiful architecture able to catch anyone’s eye. Even if you don’t consider yourself a religious person, these gems around the islands are worth checking out. One of our favorites is The Cathedral of St. Andrew located on the island of Honolulu. Let us tell you why.

Construction on The Cathedral of St. Andrew in Honolulu, Hawaii began on March 5th, 1867. It is located near Queen Emma Square, in the heart of the city.

The Cathedral of St. Andrew was designed by architects from London named William Slater and R.H. Carpenter. Though they were British, they designed the church with a French Gothic architectural style.

It is part of the Episcopal Church, which is a Christian domination.

The church has stained glass that is hand-blown. The magnificent window stretches from floor to ceiling.

At the cathedral, there is a courtyard featuring a stunning fountain. The statue in the fountain is St. Andrew, a fisherman, and apostle.

Throughout the years, the church has had many updates to keep it in working order. However, you can still feel the historical presence lingering within.

So if you’re looking for another way to be introduced to the culture, attending a Hawaiian service is truly a unique experience. Currently, they are offering five services a week.
