We’re all looking for safe ways to stay entertained these days, especially now that a stay-home order has been issued. Virtual experiences have become a big hit lately and are likely to get even more popular. And with so many options for online fun, it can be easy to overlook a few – and one you don’t want to miss is the Sloth Cam at Hattiesburg Zoo. As the name implies, the Sloth Cam streams footage of the zoo’s resident sloths. And while nothing can compare to seeing the cute creatures in person, the Sloth Cam is a close second. Take a look:
Though just 12 acres, Hattiesburg Zoo is brimming with things to see and do.
Hattiesburg Zoo/Facebook In addition to the menagerie of animals that call the zoo home, there’s a carousel, train, high ropes adventure course, splash pad, “mining expedition,” and more.
Of all the opportunities for fun at the zoo, one of the most popular is the Sloth Experience.
Hattiesburg Zoo/Facebook Fun for all ages, the Sloth Experience includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the animal kitchen and discovery center, a souvenir t-shirt, and – the best part of all – a meet-and-greet with Chewy the sloth!
Extremely popular, the Sloth Experience requires reservations and is often booked months in advance; however, it’s not your only chance to see the sloths. In fact, you don’t even have to visit the zoo to see the resident sloths.

The live footage features an entire sloth family – Chewy, Mo, and their baby, Maple.

Since sloths are nocturnal, nighttime is the best time to watch the Sloth Cam.
