Built in 1889 during the midst of the gold rush, the hotel was originally called the Hotel Warshauer. It was renamed The Geiser Grand when Albert Geiser bought it in 1900.

Winsome charms aside, however, the Geiser Grand Hotel is also known as one of the most haunted places in all of Oregon. Back in its early days, the Geiser Grand was the place to go for social events and fine dining, known as “The Queen of the Mines,” in fact.

The hotel was such a happening place to be, that it seems some guests never left. The most famous of the hotel’s ghosts is known as “The Lady in Blue.” Dressed in a blue gown, her name was (or is?) Annabelle, and she is often seen walking up and down the main staircase.
