The Menger Bar Is Texas Oldest Continuously Operating Saloon

Hidden inside the Menger Hotel is the Menger Bar, the oldest continuously operating saloon in the state. Sit back, have a drink, and let yourself be whisked back to the days when Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders in this very bar.

Located inside the historic Menger Hotel, the Menger Bar was established in 1859. That makes it San Antonio’s oldest continuously operating saloon!
