Whether or not you’re a fan of museums, you’ve got to pay a visit to the History Museum at the Castle. Not your typical museum, this one features a ton of local history, including a Houdini exhibit that’s been visited by more than 150,000 people! But that’s not all there is to love. There’s also an array of national exhibits. Oh, and did we mention the museum is housed in a huge building that looks like a castle? Take a look:

And while we’re on the subject of walls, it seems like a good time to bring up the building’s history. The structure, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1923 and has lots of features reminiscent of medieval castles.

Providing a glimpse into the state’s past, the museum houses a collection of info on Appleton and Fox Valley that dates back to the 1840s.

And there’s, of course, the Harry Houdini exhibit. The most popular exhibit, it attracts 50 percent of the museum’s visitors.
