Visiting Santa has got to be one of the longest-running Christmas traditions. And while the classic holiday activity is great all on its own, we found a place that kicks the festive fun up a notch – and it’s the Santa Pizza Train. Just as the name implies, the annual event combines the magic of visiting Santa with the thrill of a train ride and the tastiness of pizza. The Santa Pizza Train is one of the many train rides offered by Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad, which departs from Trego.

An annual tradition, the Santa Pizza Train runs on weekends from mid-November until the weekend before Christmas. The 2019 season begins on November 16th.

A magical event right from the start, the train is covered in festive images. Kids (and kids at heart) will be delighted to see Santa and his reindeer roll into the train station.

After leaving the station, the Santa Pizza Train sets out on a 2-hour ride that’s full of beautiful scenery, festive fun, and pizza, of course.
