The incredible subterranean wonder boasts thousands of feet of passageways, along with varying levels and tunnels. Located in Blue River, Eagle Cave is a beloved below-ground wonder that’s been delighting adventure-seekers of all ages for years.

Discovered in 1849 and inaugurated in 1938, it was Wisconsin’s very first show cave.

That’s not its only claim to fame, though. With more than 3,000 feet of passageways, it’s also the state’s largest onyx cave.

Speaking of exploring the cave, there are several options. Guided Cave Tours, which range from 1 – 2 hours, are perfect for the young and old alike.

Subterranean Adventure Tours are another option. Perfect for almost all ages, this tour requires some added physical effort, such as free-climbing and crawling. Getting muddy and having to squeeze into tight spaces is also likely.

Worth the effort, the Subterranean Adventure Tour leads visitors into passageways, which are off-limits on the Guided Cave Tour.

Eagle Cave also offers a Cave Exploratory Program, which allows visitors to actually sleep in the cave! This program runs from the last weekend of September until the last weekend of April and requires reservations.
