There’s something special about being from New England. Everything from the way we speak to the things we eat feels totally unique compared to other parts of the country. But that’s not all that sets us apart. If we’re being specific we have to mention that this region is the only one where candlepin bowling rules over all other types. And in New Hampshire, we have some of the best, including this luxury spot in Windham!

Located in Windham, Park Place Lanes is the place to go in New Hampshire if you love candlepin bowling.

Believed to have first been played in Worcester, Massachusettts in 1880, candlepin bowling features a much smaller ball that can be held in one hand and taller, more narrow pins.

Another difference to the game compared to “big ball” bowling is that the pins aren’t cleared after each throw. Instead, players can use the pins to their advantage to help move other pins.

The game is a beloved sport here in New Hampshire and Park Place Lanes offers the best place to do it. With 28 luxury lanes and eight classic lanes, this place is the biggest in the world!

This is truly one of the best ways to enjoy the game. And it’s a great place to celebrate a birthday or other milestone.

Candlepin is also great for kids. The size of the ball means they can hold it themselves, offering a chance to play just like everyone else.
