When craving a taste of the Caribbean, a Wisconsin forest is probably the last place that comes to mind. However, that’s all about to change because it’s precisely in this enchanted setting that you’ll find Tap Shack. One of the state’s best-kept secrets, Tap Shack serves Jamaican jerk chicken and craft beer out of shipping containers. It’s like a secluded tropical oasis, and you’ll want to visit!

There’s much more to Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest than immense natural beauty. The forest is actually home to a few eateries, including Delta Diner and…

Remotely located and featuring very little signage, Tap Shack isn’t exactly the kind of place you just stumble upon. It is, however, the kind of place you’ll want to seek out.

Laidback in just about every way, Tap Shack is housed in two 40-foot shipping containers, which have been completely customized.

Modeled after Jamaican jerk joints, the eatery boasts lots of nods to the Caribbean, including Jamaican-style artwork, which covers the walls of the shipping containers.

And, of course, there’s the Caribbean fare. One bite of the Jamaican jerk chicken and you’re sure to be transported straight to the islands.

The signature chicken is grilled in an outdoor open-air shack…just like in Jamaica!

Craft beer is also part of the fare. And just like the chicken, it’s sure to serve up a taste of the islands.
