In addition to Shenandoah River Outfitters, Twin River Outfitters in Buchanan has offered adventurers from all over the state a chance to experience a breathtaking segment of the James River known as the Upper James. They offer a variety of water adventures, including canoeing and kayaking, but we especially like their river float excursions. Each float trip takes approximately 1.5 hours for tubers, and offers an experience of the Upper James River that’s simply unparalleled! What’s the largest river in Virginia? The James River is Virginia’s largest river, flowing across the entire state. It’s an ideal place to go kayaking, too! Head to James River State Park and you’ll find the ideal spot for some good ol’ fashioned tubing.
