As the leaves change and the weather gets chilly, we all want to make the most out of that time we can still toss on a sweater and spend some time outside with friends and family. Luckily, Rhode Island has so many awesome Halloween traditions to partake in, from corn mazes to haunted houses and scary movie nights, your whole October can be chock full of spirited fun. One event that we can always count on, is the Roger Williams Park Zoo’s annual Jack-O-Lantern spectacular!

This stellar event runs every night through October 31st with entry from 6:30-10 p.m.

As you walk into the zoo you will be greeted with a path full of beautiful hand carved pumpkins. Many that will match the theme of the year.

This year the theme is music over the last 150 years.

Meaning you can expect pumpkins of all of your favorite musicians as well as a gorgeous soundtrack pumping along your walk.

This year there are more pumpkins along the path than ever before.

Over 6,000 to be exact! How wild is that? Make sure to take your time along the path and look closely, there is so much gorgeous gourd art to check out.

To keep the walk looking spectacular, pumpkins are carved and replaced along the path as the month goes on. Over 20,000 pumpkins in total will be carved!

With a new exciting theme and so many commited artists involved every year, we think its safe to say the spectacular will be around for a long time coming, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t run to this years event!
