On traditional dairy farms, you’ll find a small brick building next to the barn called the milk house – it’s a place where milk is cooled and temporarily stored. On the Lucky Star Farm, the milk house has a new purpose: relaxation. The farm has converted its milk house to a one-of-a-kind rental home. The exterior of the building retains the shape of a milk house, but step inside and you’ll be amazed at what the owners have done.
The milk house was originally built sometime before the 1950s. Cows were walked from the barn to the parlor, tied to a stanchion, fed and milked. When you arrive at the Lucky Star Farm, you’ll get a clue that things have been spruced up.
