Birds of a feather flock to…the International Crane Foundation! One of Wisconsin’s best-kept secrets, it’s the only place on Earth where you can see all 15 of the world’s crane species together. Guided tours of the world’s cranes are just the beginning of the fun visitors can have at the foundation, though. There are also nature trails and a gift shop filled with nature-themed items from around the world. Take a look:

Located in Baraboo, just a short drive from the water park capital of the world, you’ll find the headquarters of the International Crane Foundation.

Founded in 1973, the foundation operates in more than 50 countries in an effort to save the cranes, preserve the places they inhabit, and educate the public on the majestic creatures.

The Wisconsin headquarters are open to the public, and that’s lucky for us since it’s the only place in the world where you can see all 15 species of crane.

While at the International Crane Foundation headquarters, you can take a guided tour to learn all about the birds.

During the tour, you’ll be afforded lots of up-close views of the birds. You’ll also be treated to tons of info about the birds, thanks to informative signage and exhibits.

The fun doesn’t end with the tour, though. Several natural trails wind through the site’s 250-acre prairie.
