We all have train lovers in our lives — there’s something just so enchanting about the old-fashioned mode of transportation. But whether or not you consider yourself an aficionado, you’ll adore a visit to a quaint New Hampshire model train museum you may never have heard of. Unfortunately, your time to visit is limited — the museum will close permanently on May 31, 2018. Read on to learn why you should visit before then!

Just a few miles outside of North Conway, you’ll find the remarkable Hartmann Model Railroad Museum and Hobby Shop, a family-run operation that grew out of the founders’ childhood love of model trains.

It’s not just the trains themselves that are perfectly detailed — every little bit of the scenes they’re placed in is perfect down to the last stroke of paint.

The trains aren’t all tiny though — there’s a bigger one that runs around the outside of the museum that you can ride on in the summer months.
