There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding Tucson lately, and now, we can add yet another accolade to the mix. The Old Pueblo made the 2021 Condé Nast Traveler Hot List, with several new restaurants and hotels mentioned in the article. Here they are:

Each year, Condé Nast Traveler comes out with their annual “Hot List” featuring the best new hotels and other industry openings.

Food is a huge part of why Tucson was included on the list. After all, the city is the first place in the U.S. recognized by UNESCO for its gastronomy!

Google/Adam S. Barrio Charro is among the most noteworthy new restaurants, combining two of Tucson’s most well-known food personalities: Don Guerra of Barrio Bread, and Chef Carlotta Flores of the El Charro and Si Charro! Restaurant group.

Whiskey Del Bac is a distillery known for its single malt whiskey that’s slow-smoked over mesquite wood.

Google/Jeff Mohney It’s available both in-house and at bars all across the city, so that should tell you just how popular the beverage is.

The world-renowned Monsoon Chocolate creates the most beautiful chocolate bars you’ll ever see, using local ingredients like Sonoran sea salt harvested by members of the Tohono O’odham tribe.

Google/Ginny Romney Trying to decide on a flavor is such a delicious dilemma (we almost always end up leaving with more than one).

One of the city’s newest hotels, The Tuxon, adds a modern flair to traditional Southwestern-style architecture.

TripAdvisor/Management The boutique hotel is such a fun place to stay, and it definitely belongs on your bucket list.

Another recently-opened place to stay, Joshua Tree House, is situated right outside Saguaro National Park.

Airbnb It boasts white stucco walls, a kiva fireplace, and minimalist décor, making it the perfect desert escape.

So whether or not you live in Tucson, there are so many reasons we should be thankful for this amazing city.
