It isn’t easy to open a new business during a pandemic, and it’s also not always fun to open one during winter. But Moniker Brewery was a plan two years in the making, and so they managed to do both of those things successfully. Moniker just opened their doors in January — and even if you’re not typically a beer drinker, you just might become one when you spend some time here.

Moniker Brewery is located on the West side of Providence in the Federal Hill neighborhood, housed in an old auto body shop.

Keith Moore / Google Ben Estes is a longtime professional who started home brewing while in graduate school at SUNY ESF in Syracuse. He formerly worked at Proclamation Ale Company in Warwick as a technical manager, but he’s happiest when he’s brewing beer.

Moniker Brewery / Instagram The beer garden currently has a bit of a ski lounge vibe, but we can’t wait to see what it’s like in the summer.

There is no food menu here, but the beer menu will certainly suffice.

Steve Gacin / Google If you get hungry, there are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood, including the delicious Pizza J.
