The salty breezes of Maine aren’t hard to find. Not when so much of the state borders the ocean! This is one of the most characteristic elements of time spent in Maine. You can find it by visiting the beach for the day, but these days we’re looking for more unique ways to enjoy the coast. A drive is always nice, but there’s nothing quite like being outside. This trail will take visitors along the coast for one of our favorite ways to enjoy nature Downeast.
Bar Harbor is one of the most scenic areas in Maine. With coastal access and, of course, the home of Acadia National Park there are a lot of reasons to make a trip here.

There are places to detour along residential streets, too. This makes it easy to create more of a loop without doing the entire 1.5-mile out-and-back journey.

While the trail is not officially accessible for all, strollers and wheelchairs can make the journey as long as the path is packed. This would be anytime there hasn’t been recent rain. Of course, you’ll want to check conditions before setting out as there’s no guarantee that the quality of the trail stays the same for the entire route.

And don’t forget the pups! As long as they’re on a leash, they’re more than welcome to enjoy the experience.
