Kentucky is full of so many natural wonders, both above and below ground. From our world-famous caves to our wondrous mountains and canyons, Kentucky is one big wonder of a place. But did you know there’s an experience that combines both above and below-ground adventures, where you can literally walk straight through a mountain while exploring a cave? Within the majestic Kentucky Appalachians, there’s an underground adventure that’s truly bucket-list worthy. This Kentucky cavern tour is easily the most unique you’ll ever take!

In Eastern Kentucky, the state’s rolling blue hills gently fold into the Appalachian Mountains. Known as the Kentucky Appalachians, this is one of the most naturally beautiful areas of the Bluegrass.

While known for its abundance of outdoor recreation – camping, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and fishing – the titular caves really are the stars of the show here.

The state park offers several different cave tours, from self-guided walks to organized expeditions led by a park ranger.

Definitely opt for a guided tour; they range in length from 0.25-0.75 miles, with anywhere from 75 to 225 steps.
