South Carolina’s newest mountain hiking destination is one with a particularly interesting terrain. It’s located within the Nine Times Preserve in the Upstate near Pickens and a hike on the Big Rock Mountain Trail is one you won’t soon forget.

The trail to the summit of South Carolina’s Big Rock Mountain is 2.2 miles out and back and has an overall elevation change of just 695 feet.
